The challenge

The product idea was a local marketplace where users could browse items, compare options, contact sellers, and save products. The design challenge was balancing visual discovery with trust-building.

Problem

Marketplace users make decisions with incomplete information. If seller details, item condition, contact method, or location feels unclear, users hesitate.

Who it's for

  • Buyers browsing products
  • Sellers listing products
  • Returning users saving items
  • Admins reviewing listings

Approach

Create a mobile marketplace experience where trust cues are visible early. Product cards, seller details, location, item condition, and call-to-action hierarchy should help the user decide without friction.

Key features & screens

  • Product feed
  • Category filters
  • Search and sorting
  • Product detail page
  • Seller trust card
  • Save/favorite state
  • Contact seller CTA
  • Similar items
  • Listing creation flow
  • Admin review state

System & UX decisions

  • Put product image and key details first.
  • Show seller trust signals before contact.
  • Make filters fast and thumb-friendly.
  • Use progressive details instead of long descriptions.
  • Keep primary CTA fixed near the thumb zone.

Outcome

The experience was built around clean product discovery, trust signals, saved items, and clear seller actions.
