The challenge

The client needed an online catalog that could grow into a stronger e-commerce experience. The first product challenge was not checkout; it was helping customers understand what to buy.

Problem

When product catalogs are hard to scan, customers compare items manually or leave. The product needed better category logic, product cards, filtering, and detail hierarchy.

Who it's for

  • Online shoppers
  • Returning customers
  • Store owner
  • Inventory/admin team

Approach

Create a catalog-first commerce experience with strong product cards, helpful filters, comparison-ready layouts, and a clear product detail page.

Key features & screens

  • Product grid
  • Category filters
  • Search and sorting
  • Product detail page
  • Variant selection
  • Wishlist/save state
  • Cart preview
  • Checkout entry
  • Stock/availability states
  • Admin product structure

System & UX decisions

  • Make product differences visible in the card.
  • Keep filters useful but not too many.
  • Use sticky purchase actions on product detail pages.
  • Show availability clearly.
  • Create empty filter states that help users recover.

Outcome

The experience improved product discovery through category structure, filter logic, detail pages, and clear purchase actions.
